Is my data uploaded to a server?
No. Text cleaning, PDF merging and splitting, citations, grades, attendance, and budget math all execute locally in your browser tab. There is no backend to upload to, so your content is never stored or logged; only privacy-respecting aggregate usage counts leave the page.
Does Tension Free Zone work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded, every tool keeps working without an internet connection. The only optional network call is citation metadata lookup (Crossref/DataCite), and it runs only when you press Fetch.
Where is my data stored?
In your browser’s localStorage on this device only. Clear Workspace wipes everything except your language and theme, which makes this browser the only copy: the Workspace backup button writes every note, citation, deadline, grade, attendance record, resume draft and finance setting into one JSON file on your disk, and Restore from file reads it back.
What happens if I clear my browser cache or site data?
Everything this browser saved goes with it. With a workspace backup it costs you nothing: clear the site data whenever you like, open the app and press Restore from file to put your notes, citations, deadlines, grades, attendance and drafts straight back. Connect a folder once and the backup is written into it, so it never sits in a download list you might clear too.
Do I need to create an account?
